Job summary

Jedson Engineering seeks an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to guide multi-discipline projects from concept through start-up. You will work directly with clients to define needs, manage scope, document instrumentation requirements, and design control panels while coordinating with engineering teams to ensure cost control and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate brings a B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 6–15 years of related experience, including EPC or engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley programming.
• 6–15 years of project engineering experience, including EPC or engineering firm work.
• Experienced Controls engineer on major capital projects from study through start-up.
• Ability to manage client relationships and budgets.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage discipline aspects of projects from inception through execution.
• Develop and document the scope of work.
• Create schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring.
• Design custom control panels to meet project needs.
• Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, and actuators.
• Create datasheets and coordinate with vendors for quotes.
• Coordinate with engineering team to select devices.
• Understand project success criteria and meet client expectations.
• Develop and track project costs.
• Identify changes to scope and communicate them.
• Ensure value and trust with clients.
• Review and manage project deliverables; coordinate implementation and monitor progress.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

We’re looking for an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to help lead and manage a project scope. This role will work directly with the clients to understand the project needs and help manage and direct the execution of the engineering deliverables.

• Manage discipline aspects of projects from inception through execution
• Develop and document the scope of work
• Create and update schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring
• Design custom control panels to meet the project need
• Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators
• Create datasheets and work with vendors to get quotes for instrumentation and valves for various applications
• Coordinate with engineering team to select the appropriate devices
• Understand project success criteria and ensure client expectations are met
• Develop and track project costs
• Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope
• Identify and effectively respond to clients issues and needs
• Ensure value is provided to the client and develop & earn their trust
• Review and manage all project deliverablesCoordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the project

• B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley programming.
• 6-15 years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience
• Experienced Controls engineer on major capital projects from the study phase, detailed design, construction support, check out and start-up.
• Oversees project execution to ensure completion and client satisfaction
• Demonstrated experience in driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion
• Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships
