Job summary

PreciXion, Inc. is seeking a senior Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize electro-mechanical control systems for advanced metal 3D printing production.

You will lead automation projects, develop PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions, and drive reliability across the shop floor. You will collaborate with mechanical and software teams, create detailed electrical schematics, maintain documentation, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or control systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical and controls engineering, preferably in automation/manufacturing.
• Proven experience implementing and optimizing process automation in production.
• Proven experience recruiting, mentoring, and leading engineers.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar).
• Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, schematics, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS, EtherCAT.
• Proficient in CAD for electrical/electronic design (NX, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Experience with robotics and motion control is a plus

Responsibilities

• Control System Design: Develop, program, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA for manufacturing processes.
• Electrical Design: Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical/software engineers to integrate systems.
• Process Automation: Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Process Optimization: Analyze processes and implement control strategies for better quality and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose issues and minimize downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure systems meet NFPA 70E, OSHA standards and conduct safety audits.
• Documentation: Maintain records and provide training.
• Technology Implementation: Stay updated and implement innovative control solutions.
• Project Management: Lead installation, upgrade, and automation projects within schedule and budget.
• Leadership: Build a high-performing engineering team.
