Job summary

KERN-LIEBERS USA is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to support industrial manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose PLC/electrical issues, design and implement automation solutions, and collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of troubleshooting experience, and strong Siemens S7 PLC skills; travel to international locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• 5+ years troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Strong PLC programming and diagnostics knowledge (Siemens S7).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and drawings.
• Experience with sensors, relays, drives, motors, HMIs, safety systems.
• Solid troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic Computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced electrical and controls engineering support for industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and automation issues and identify root causes.
• Support maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Design, program, implement, and support electrical/automation solutions for manufacturing equipment.
• Identify and execute process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support problem-solving, quality improvements, and corrective actions related to equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance and production personnel and support cross-functional projects.
• Support international locations and travel as required.
