Job summary

MPI is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer in Concord, NH to design, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment. You will develop and maintain HMI/SCADA applications, support OT networks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

You’ll lead equipment upgrades, document changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production performance. A strong background in electrical controls and industrial networking is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related technical discipline; equivalent industrial controls experience considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or OT environments.
• Experience commissioning, programming, and supporting PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent automation systems.
• Experience developing and supporting HMI and SCADA applications.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking concepts, Ethernet, IP addressing, and managed switches.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
• Develop, maintain, and improve HMI and SCADA applications for real-time visibility.
• Support OT networks connecting production systems and enterprise applications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, automation, and network issues affecting equipment.
• Lead automation upgrades, retrofits, and process improvement projects.
• Provide technical guidance to automation, maintenance, and instrumentation teams.
