Job summary

Trew is seeking a Controls Engineer III to design and implement electrical control systems for automated material handling equipment. You will develop specifications, review drawings, and create PLC/PAC logic, with project work performed in the office and at client sites.

You will lead projects from concept through design, programming, testing and onsite support, coordinating with engineering teams and clients to ensure successful outcomes. Travel up to 30-40% may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong task-based skills with focus on organization, time-management and prioritization.
• Experience in electrical and controls systems for automated equipment is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Verify customer specifications and define applications with clients and internal teams.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers on process and testing.
• Develop PLC/PAC logic and HMI interfaces for automated equipment.
• Perform on-site commissioning and customer training at facilities.
• Maintain project schedules, resources, and budget tracking.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software engineers on solutions.
