Job summary

Fives Intralogistics in Wixom, MI, is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design and implement PLC and HMI software for diverse machinery. You will read electrical and pneumatic drawings and use them to inform software solutions, writing PLC and HMI programs from scratch or via templates.

You will ensure complete designs before power-on, reduce debugging time, and support on-site startup. You will train end users and coordinate with engineering, delivering accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field, and 5 years of experience.
• Ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings and mechanical sequences to inform software.
• Write PLC and HMI software, from scratch or using customer standards.

Responsibilities

• Write PLC and HMI software for equipment/machinery from scratch or using templates.
• Ensure software/design completeness prior to power-on to reduce debugging time.
• Support manufacturing and service during debug and installation startup.
• Read electrical & pneumatic drawings and mechanical sequences to inform software design.
• Understand safety concepts to ensure proper implementation during design and software generation.
• Train end users on equipment operation and hardware/software architecture.
• Coordinate on smaller projects and report progress, timing and issues to management.
• Ensure documentation accuracy by recording wiring/field changes for final drawings.
