Job summary
Vertage Inc. seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to support custom automation projects, involving PLC/HMI programming, controls software development, machine commissioning, and customer support. The role requires hands-on work with Beckhoff, Rockwell/AB, and languages such as Structured Text or C#.
Familiarity with Cognex vision, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and robot programming is a plus. Travel to Nashville, onsite 5 days a week, with a 16–18 week design-to-commissioning cycle and 6–8 weeks
Qualifications
- Proficient PLC/HMI programming across multiple platforms.
- Beckhoff experience strongly preferred.
- Rockwell/Allen-Bradley with Structured Text or C# is considered.
- Cognex vision systems a plus.
- Controls software development and debugging experience.
- Robot programming, VFDs and servo control.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Support custom automation projects from design to commissioning.
- Develop and debug controls software.
- Program robots and configure VFDs/servos.
- Integrate device communication networks.
