Job summary

Dyno Nobel, Inc. in Illinois seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to lead electrical and controls packaging for major mining and industrial projects.

You will develop wiring schematics, PLC/DCS/HMI code, and coordinate with project teams to meet safety, regulatory, and performance goals. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8+ years in controls engineering, with hands-on experience reading P&IDs, AutoCAD, and leading multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in major engineering projects, site upgrades, and major site modifications.
• Safely coordinate EIC design and drawing package for execution, while remaining on schedule and on budget.
• Develop key engineering deliverables such as electrical construction drawings and control wiring schematics. Design and code PLC-based control systems.
• Act as the technical resource for the process controls design of major engineering projects.
• Oversee electrical and controls engineering deliverables on projects to ensure technical quality and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with the engineering teams, project stakeholders, and customers.
• Demonstrate ownership and seek accountability to deliver results.
• Contribute to a culture of mutual respect, trust, accountability, and teamwork.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and lead by example.
• Ensure design compliance with applicable external regulatory requirements, company engineering standards and HSE requirements for the manufacture of explosives and hazardous materials.
• Direct third-party engineering design resources to produce deliverables that meet or exceed expectations.
