Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer to design and implement automation for high-speed manufacturing processes across diverse industries.

You will lead project phases from software configuration to site start-up, and mentor teams to deliver reliable control systems. The role requires strong PLC/SCADA expertise, excellent communication, and willingness to travel for installations and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of automation experience with HMI/SCADA/PLCs and control system design.
• Experience with packaging/processing environments in consumer products, life sciences, or beverage/food industries is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements including installations and start-up activities.

Responsibilities

• Design automation control systems; develop specifications, documentation, and drawings for high-speed automated manufacturing processes.
• Participate in project phases including software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and start-up.
• Lead project execution including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, and site start-up support of integrated systems.
• Maintain and grow solid client relationships and provide troubleshooting for packaging lines and process/software systems.
