Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller's BW Design Group in Phoenix seeks a Sr. Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice.

You will design automation systems, develop specifications, documentation, and drawings for high-speed manufacturing processes, and collaborate with industry experts to deliver high-quality solutions. The role requires seven+ years in automation with HMI/SCADA/PLCs, hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and PanelView HMIs, and travel for installations and startups.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs and control system design.
• Packaging/food/beverage or life sciences industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and PanelView HMIs.
• Familiarity with industrial networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, DH+, etc.).
• Experience with control system software suites is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design automation control systems and develop specs, drawings and documentation for high-speed manufacturing processes.
• Lead or participate in software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation and start-up phases of projects.
• Oversee project execution, including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC/HMI programming, and site startup support.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high-quality deliverables.
