As a Builder on the Stack Forging Thermal Solutions team at Johnson Controls, you’ll join a team of sleeve‑rollers who set a high bar for themselves and their co‑workers. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will work with an interdisciplinary team to design and implement the industrial controls systems for JCI Stack Forging machines. Strong communication, flexibility, and the desire to “wear many hats” will all be essential skills for any successful applicant. You have experience working with complex machines from concept to execution, solving tough engineering challenges along the way. You take full ownership of your projects, driving them forward independently while maintaining a strong sense of urgency. You know when to pivot, prioritize, and adapt to shifting demands to keep progress on track.
You are a hands‑on controls engineer who enjoys solving complex automation challenges and taking ownership of machine control systems from concept through commissioning. You have experience designing industrial control systems, motion control, and electrical hardware, and are comfortable working with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and technicians to deliver reliable, safe, and high‑performing equipment. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, apply a safety‑first mindset to every design, and are driven to continuously improve machine performance through practical, innovative engineering solutions.

Hirring Salary Range: $90,000 - $130, 000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
