Jobot is seeking a Sr Controls & Automation Engineer in Knoxville to lead electrical design and PLC/robot programming for automated equipment. You will drive safety circuits, supplier coordination, and project leadership across production, maintenance, and quality teams.

Qualifications

BS in electrical engineering or related field.
8+ years as controls engineer or related role.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Formal training or extensive experience on PLCs (Allen Bradley, OMRON) and AutoCAD Electrical.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven project delivery history; able to manage long-term and day-to-day priorities.

Responsibilities

Develop cost estimates for electrical systems including purchased components and install labor.
Design electrical hardware circuits and safety control circuits for automated machines.
Create electrical drawings and schematics.
Lead design reviews with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
Program machine software (PLC, robot, vision, HMI, etc.).
Debug programming during build and early run stages.
Research, develop, test, and implement current and emerging technologies.
Provide ongoing technical support for in-house technicians.
