Job summary
General Motors in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our on-site manufacturing team. You will configure, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems on the production floor, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and maintenance to drive continuous improvement.
You should have a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5+ years in industrial automation, with the ability to work off-shifts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components
- Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipment
- Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment
- Develop innovative solutions
- Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays
- Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment
- Effectively lead and support the installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation systems
- Support and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groups
- Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety
