Job summary

FusionICS, LLC in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to join an IT/OT hybrid ICS team. The role focuses on onsite engineering, integration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for PLCs, DDCs, SCADA, HMIs, and Ignition Vision graphics across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required) in Electrical, Controls Systems, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience with industrial control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs, or similar systems
• Experience supporting DoW customers is highly desirable
• Security+ or equivalent is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support of existing industrial control systems, including PLCs, DDCs, SCADA, HMIs and associated control-system infrastructure
• Perform daily Operations & Maintenance activities to maintain SCADA, PLC and DDC systems availability and reliability
• Work with multiple control-system platforms, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens, EcoStruxture and other PLC/DDC platforms
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, communications, controls, and system-integration issues across multiple facilities
• Support configuration management, version control, backups, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management for control-system applications
• Develop and maintain Ignition Vision graphics, screens, navigation, alarms, trends, scripting, tags, templates, and user interfaces
• Integrate Ignition with PLCs, DDC systems, databases, equipment, and other enterprise and industrial systems
• Develop and implement HMI graphics following high-performance HMI principles and design standards
• Lead or support new control-system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle-replacement projects
• Evaluate and improve control-system architectures for reliability, maintainability, performance, and scalability
• Develop and maintain system documentation, control narratives, sequence-of-operation documentation, diagrams, and configuration records
• Perform system testing, commissioning, validation, and acceptance activities
