Job summary

Concept Systems, Inc. in the Pacific Northwest seeks an experienced controls engineer to design, program, and implement industrial automation systems (PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, SCADA) and to take project ownership from concept through startup.

You will work closely with customers to understand processes, define practical solutions, mentor peers, and manage scope, schedules, and budgets while adhering to our project methodology. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of controls, automation, or systems integration experience.
• Experience with PLC/HMI development, robotics/vision, SCADA, and machine safety.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership of complex technical challenges.
• Ability to lead technical work and manage scope, schedule, and budgets.
• Strong communication with customers to understand needs and build relationships.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to mentor across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and implement industrial control and automation systems (PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, motion control, SCADA).
• Take technical ownership from concept through testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Engage with customers to understand processes and propose practical automation solutions.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and customer expectations.
• Serve as a technical resource during meetings, estimation, and proposals.
• Foster customer relationships and identify future opportunities; stay current with evolving technologies.
• Mentor and support other engineers and collaborate across teams.
