Job summary
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer to own the full lifecycle of control systems from mounting to commissioning for electro-mechanical components. You will troubleshoot production equipment, lead design reviews, and contribute to electrical schematics and system architecture.
Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering, 4+ years in controls engineering, and hands-on experience with Beckhoff/Siemens, Ignition SCADA, and AutoCAD Electrical.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems and controls.
- Safety-focused with knowledge of NFPA/OSHA standards.
- Experience with Beckhoff and Siemens platforms; familiarity with SCADA systems.
Responsibilities
- Own complete lifecycle: mounting, integration, PLC I/O mapping through commissioning for equipment components.
- Troubleshoot faults on production equipment and drive uptime improvements.
- Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
- Contribute to system architectures and electrical schematics per standards.
- Write structured text PLC code with clean, maintainable documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to mitigate risks and optimize install quality.
