Job summary
JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design and implement control software using PLCs and HMIs. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma with three years of college-level study or related experience or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo applications, and device communication networks.
- Travel up to 25% to customer sites and JR locations.
Responsibilities
- Develops and designs control software using PLCs and HMIs.
- Interprets customer specifications to ensure equipment meets requirements.
- Ensures startup/commissioning aligns with approved specs.
- Programs robotic and/or controls equipment per customer specs.
- Performs preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize operation.
- Reviews designs for functionality and assists teammates as needed.
- Provides service documentation and customer training at sites.
- Maintains safety and quality standards on JR or customer premises.
- Other duties as assigned.
