Job summary

Proper Voltage designs and builds safety-critical battery energy storage systems. This role leads control design for the bidirectional DC/DC power conversion stage, handling current and voltage loops, mode transitions, and protection behavior of multiphase interleaved converters from model to hardware.

You will collaborate with the Lead Firmware Engineer, model the plant, discretize compensators, and hand coefficients, timing, and margins to the firmware team for implementation, verifying loop

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Six+ years designing control systems for switched‑mode power converters.
Experience designing control loops for converters with validated hardware.

Responsibilities

Derive small-signal plant models for buck/boost and multi‑phase topologies.
Design and discretize compensators (PID, Type II/III, 2p2z/3p3z).
Discretize designs for digital implementation with sampling and delays.
Build closed‑loop converter models in PLECS or MATLAB/Simulink; use SPICE where needed.
Write code and scripts for simulation, parameter sweeps, and analysis.
