Job summary

Hatch Global Search is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design and implement automation control systems for industrial processes. You will interface with mechanical and electrical design teams and coordinate Runoff and Machine Acceptance with customer facilities.

The role involves creating system architectures, programming standards, data-collection interfaces, and leading cross-functional project teams across customer sites. Travel for installations is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in controls engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience or a related degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Able to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines using analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to train junior engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop Programming Standards and Code templates to reduce the time of completion of programming projects.
• Meet deadlines and take a project from start to finish.
• Lead large and small projects both at our facility and at the customer's site.
• Design system architecture for machine control systems, including electrical schematics and network diagrams.
• Specify and program data collection systems interfacing with PLC/PAC.
• Interface Controls Architecture with MES Systems.
• Lead teams of controls engineers for larger projects.
• Provide quoting and estimating numbers to the Applications team as needed.
• Provide Programming, Commissioning, and debugging guidance to junior engineers.
• Travel with equipment to customer sites for installation and training.
