Job summary

Cintrifuse is seeking an experienced controls and automation engineer for onsite work in Cincinnati. The role focuses on designing, programming, and validating automated assembly and test equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, and motion control.

You will drive improvements in OEE, throughput, and quality while ensuring compliance with FDA/ISO validation requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of controls/automation engineering in regulated manufacturing (medical/pharma) or a Master's with 6+ years.
• Hands-on design, programming, and integration of automated assembly/test equipment (PLC, HMI/SCADA, robotics).
• Experience with cross-functional teams and automation suppliers.
• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing (1M+ units/year, <10s cycle).
• Strong AB PLC (CompactLogix/ControlLogix), ladder/structured text, Ignition HMI, SCADA, and SQL data stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and implement automated equipment control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
• Support electrical/controls/software architecture from concept to validation.
• Program/configure troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ignition HMIs, SCADA, and robotics.
• Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement for controls, downtime, and cycle-time.
• Ensure FDA/ISO validation and QA documentation for equipment and software.
• Lead procurement, supplier evaluation, FATs/SATs, and project handoffs.
• Drive OEE, yield, and throughput improvements via control enhancements.
