Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is recruiting a Controls Engineer to support automation projects and manufacturing tech initiatives. The role involves troubleshooting, improving processes, and implementing control systems in a manufacturing setting.

The engineer will design electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls, review drawings, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure data integrity across production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combined education/experience.
• Experience with electrical schematics, ladder logic, HMIs and safety PLCs.
• Hands-on with Allen-Bradley PLCs and servo controllers; automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and support control systems, automation equipment, and applications.
• Research and evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies for implementation.
• Design and execute testing procedures for functionality and safety.
• Develop and maintain electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic control drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on components and suppliers.
• Ensure data collection system integrity and accuracy.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, maintenance, and operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime and improve performance.
• Support preventive maintenance and process improvements.
• Maintain project documentation using established standards.
• Coordinate supplier activities and assist project execution.
• Participate in CI initiatives and other engineering projects.
