Job summary

BW Design Group seeks a capable Controls Engineer II to join our Houston team. You will work on capital projects, developing automation solutions, programming PLCs and HMIs, and coordinating with clients and vendors to deliver robust control systems.

You will design control systems, create documentation, diagnose issues, and manage project milestones from design through startup. A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, and 3–8 years of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

Experience in control systems design, troubleshooting and high-intensity environments.
Direct experience as a controls engineer in automated processes or system integration.
Experience creating and designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA).
Solid understanding of instrumentation and controls (I&C).
Experience with field instrumentation, control system installation and configuration.

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions and participate in design, testing, commissioning, and startup of automated manufacturing processes.
Design automation control systems and create project documentation to meet client requirements.
Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams, clients and vendors.
Program PLCs and HMIs/SCADA, and configure software/hardware per client specs.
Manage project deliverables, scheduling, and site installation/start-up support.
Validate and commission facility systems and turnover to the customer.
