Job summary

S&S Worldwide, Inc is seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop and supervise control systems for amusement rides and roller coasters. The engineer will develop PLC programs, perform on-site start-up, troubleshoot issues, validate tests, and enhance programs in the field while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

The role requires extensive experience with control systems, PLCs, and electrical schematics, along with a track record in ride installation,

Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years experience designing control systems.
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or controls from an accredited institution.
Practical experience in software design for control systems.
Familiarity with PLCs, motion control systems, sensor and actuator technologies, and user interfaces and implementation criteria.
Knowledge of Allen-Bradley hardware, architecture and software.
Knowledge of pneumatic control systems and devices.
Experience with design, modification and interpretation of electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Knowledge of common electrical codes.
Knowledge of Functional Safety principles and associated codes.
Extensive worldwide travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Development of functional specifications, risk assessments and documentation for amusement rides or devices.
Hardware and software development of control systems.
Lead new amusement ride installation and commissioning activities.
Perform on-site start-up of amusement rides or devices.
Troubleshoot and correct hardware and software issues during ride start-up or service activities.
Perform and document ride enhancements in the field.
Establishment of good working relationships with clients, consultants, and company personnel.
Specification, installation and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control devices.
Other duties as assigned.
