A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for its Huntington Beach office. The role involves implementing automation solutions, leading projects, and ensuring client satisfaction through technical expertise. Candidates must have a degree in Engineering and significant experience in PLC and HMI programming, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.

This position requires demonstrated technical proficiency in implementing automation solutions with PLC, HMI, SCADA platforms with DCS/Delta V platforms a plus. This person will interact directly with customers, develop specifications, and implement/test/commission/qualify automation solutions. This position is a leadership role within the business unit and requires strong problem-solving ability, well-balanced people skills, an aptitude for business efficiency, and an interest in creating partnerships. The Mid- or Senior Controls Engineer demonstrates success by securing repeat work with both new and existing customers.
Major Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science or equal experience.
Experience
Greater than 5 years with capabilities in the below areas is preferred:
Understanding of S88 Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems
Experience in industries such as Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, and Manufacturing
Experience in the design of electrical schematics, and control panels
Experience with AutoCAD is also desired
Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions
Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager
Ability to travel up to 10% out of state, other travel is to client sites local to Southern California
Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing and pulling.

Expected salary range is approximately $140,000 to $160,000 per year depending on qualifications plus a discretionary bonus and employee stock program.
