About the Job

We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team in Addison, TX .

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with hands-on expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS / Emerson DeltaV platforms .

You will play a key role in leading automation projects , working directly with clients, and mentoring junior engineers.

If you have recent DeltaV experience (2-3 years minimum) and a strong background in industrial automation , this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

  • Exposure to networking, industrial IoT, MES, ERP systems, and batch automation .
  • Travel up to 25% (mostly local to the Dallas area) .

What you'll be doing :

  • Design, implement, and optimize control systems for industrial automation.
  • Develop PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions and Batch / Recipe automation .
  • Program controllers ( PLC, DCS / DeltaV ) using Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text .
  • Configure HMI / SCADA applications using platforms like FactoryTalk, Aveva, Ignition, GE iFIX, and Siemens Winn CC .
  • Design and implement industrial networking using Ethernet / IP, Profinet, and Modbus .
  • Act as a technical lead on projects and mentor junior engineers .
  • Assist with project management tasks, including execution planning and budgeting.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at client sites.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering.
  • Recent (2-3 years) hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV .
  • Strong knowledge of PLC hardware / software platforms (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon).
  • Familiarity with DCS platforms (Emerson DeltaV or similar) .
  • Experience with Batch / Recipe automation, OEE, MES, and ERP systems .
  • Ability to lead projects while remaining hands-on (not a full PM role).
  • Client-facing experience with strong communication skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% (local to Dallas area) .

Nice to Have :

  • PMP certification .
  • Experience with AutoCAD and electrical schematics .
  • Background in Semiconductor or Life Sciences industries .
  • Knowledge of power distribution under 480VAC and NEC compliance .
