Job summary

Solid Power, Inc. in Colorado is seeking a Senior Controls/Automation Engineer II to design, commission, startup and optimize advanced manufacturing systems for next-generation sulfide solid-state electrolyte production.

You will lead AB PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and field support from equipment startup through ramp. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration with process engineering, operations, maintenance, IT/OT and vendors, translating complex requirements into

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automation engineering or related field.
Minimum 10 years of industrial controls and manufacturing experience.
Proficient in Allen Bradley PLCs and Rockwell software.
Strong field startup and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, implementation and optimization of electrical control systems.
Develop and modify PLC programs for process equipment and production lines.
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup and ramp activities.
Review electrical schematics, I/O, and control narratives for compliance.
Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA apps for clear operator control and alarms.
Troubleshoot PLC/HMI/SCADA issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
Collaborate with process engineering, maintenance, IT/OT and vendors.
Ensure controls integration with plant networks and data systems.
Establish standards for code structure, backups, and revision control.
