Job summary

Tiger Search Group has a Controller-level opportunity in New York City requiring a seasoned CPA with SEC reporting and SOX 404 expertise. The role calls for 10+ years in public and corporate accounting, including current or recent public company experience, and offers equity upside.

The chosen candidate will oversee GAAP reporting, quarterly closes, audits, and internal controls, communicating complex financial matters to stakeholders. In-office role with a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Active CPA required
• 10+ years of experience including public accounting and corporate accounting
• MUST have current or recent experience working in a publicly held company
• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements
• Experience with ASC 805, ASC 810 and ASC 606
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and other SEC regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain financial reporting processes and systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting
• Coordinate and manage year-end audits with external CPA firm.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls and best practices
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes
