Job summary

Good American is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and safeguard financial assets. You will manage general ledger, payroll, tax, and audits while mentoring a growing accounting team in a fast-paced fashion brand environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting with at least 5 in leadership, experience in apparel or consumer goods, and proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required or strongly preferred CPA highly desired.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, and inventory accounting is highly desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel is required.
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor accounting team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage financial reporting in accordance with GAAP for senior leadership.
• Develop internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory and COGS reporting.
• Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
• Scale accounting systems and team structure in alignment with growth.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff through training and feedback.
