Job summary

Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Media, PA seeks a detail-oriented Controller to oversee the College’s financial reporting, general ledger, and audits. This full-time role reports to the CFO and requires CPA licensure, a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, and at least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• At least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements and coordinating external audits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and monthly/annual financial statements.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, and reconciliations.
• Perform daily reconciliations of cash and investments.
• Maintain fixed-asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist budget development and monitoring for operating and capital budgets.
• Prepare financial reports, IPEDS, and state/federal data requests.
• Coordinate annual audits and support auditor requests.
• Improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Provide support to departments and assist CFO on analyses.
