Job summary

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is seeking a Financial Services Manager (Controller) to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions with a focus on grant management, compliance, and financial accountability. This senior role oversees the general ledger, journal entries, month-end and year-end closes, cash management, accounts payable, and financial statements.

The Controller develops system controls, coordinates the ACFR and Single Audit, ensures GAAP and GASB compliance, mentors

Qualifications

• Masters' degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA related field.
• CPA license required.
• 5+ years in professional accounting or financial management, preferably within a public sector.
• 3+ years in grant accounting, reporting, and compliance.
• Experience with ACFR and Single Audit processes.
• Knowledge of GASB, GAAP, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing.
• Oversee grant accounting, drawdowns, and reimbursements.
• Prepare ACFR schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with grant regulations and internal controls.
• Lead staff and provide supervision and development.
