Job summary

Southwest Mobile Storage Inc. is seeking a qualified Controller to oversee all core accounting functions in a full-time onsite role in Phoenix, AZ.

This position leads the accounting team, ensures GAAP compliance, and manages complex areas like lease accounting, revenue recognition, and multi-state tax. The role requires CPA, strong ERP experience (Dynamics 365 Business Central), and leadership to coordinate with Operations, Sales, and HR/Payroll.

Qualifications

• CPA active and eligible.
• Strong GAAP expertise, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and fixed assets.
• Financial reporting proficiency: monthly close, consolidated statements, cash flows.
• Balance-sheet ownership with reconciliations and flux analyses.
• Multi-state sales tax experience, including CA.
• Payroll accounting incl. accruals and commissions.
• Inventory accounting incl. reclasses and branch transfers.
• Internal controls mindset to design and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all core accounting functions including lease and depreciation entries.
• Manage deferred revenue processes and related reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly cash flow statements and consolidate financials.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and close.
• Maintain sales tax compliance across states including CA.
• Oversee payroll accounting, ISR commissions, payroll accruals.
• Reclassify inventory and validate work order costs.
• Handle operational accounting tasks and card controls.
• Lead and develop accounting team and maintain financial tracking tools.
