Job summary

Groundworks New Mexico is seeking a Controller to maximize return on financial assets by establishing policies and controls while ensuring compliance. Responsibilities include financial analysis, budget management, and audit leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience and preferably possesses a CPA. Experience with nonprofit organizations and Sage Intacct is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial / accounting analysis or related work experience in a financial institution.
• Active CPA designation is preferred.
• Non-profit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maximize return on financial assets through policies and controls.
• Publish financial statements by the 15th of each month.
• Lead external audits with unqualified opinions.

Expected Outcomes
-Accurate and timely publishing of Homewise’s and subsidiary financial statements by the 15th of each month.
-Unqualified audit opinion with no significant findings or material weaknesses noted.
-Ensuring continued development of team members and cross training for every task.

Other Information/Requirements:

Work may be performed from either our Santa Fe or Albuquerque office.

Minimum Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or a related field
-5+ years of financial / accounting analysis or related work experience in a financial institution.
