Job summary

IB Abel’s is seeking a hands-on Controller to partner with the Vice President of Finance in York, PA. Lead a growing finance team, own the close process, and drive improvements across accounting operations to support rapid company growth.

The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, leadership experience, and the ability to travel to York, PA three days a week. A Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and experience with construction or project accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least 5 years progressive accounting experience including leading people.
• Public accounting background preferred but not required.
• Strong command of accounting principles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 7–12 reports, coaching and accountability.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close with accurate financials.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiencies across close and accounting operations.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage annual audit relationship and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare financial statements, GL activity, and schedules.
• Ensure accuracy of job cost reporting, WIP, and revenue recognition.
• Oversee AP/AR, cash receipts, and GL including AP checks.
