Job summary

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the local finance team in Burley, Idaho. The Controller II oversees daily accounting operations, month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls, serving as a partner to operations and finance for analysis and process improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of progressively responsible experience (CPA/CMA preferred), and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience; manufacturing/agriculture experience preferred.
• Public accounting (audit) experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• ERP proficiency; Infor or Lawson preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willing to work on-site at the Burley, Idaho office; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and ensure policy and U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and GL.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for multiple ledgers with timely results.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting and monitor operating/capital budgets.
• Provide financial analysis to management and support process improvements.
• Support internal controls and address deficiencies with leadership.
• Collaborate with field finance, corporate, and operations on reporting initiatives.
• Supervise accounting staff and oversee performance management and development.
• Support audit activities with schedules and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and data accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.
