KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a client in Methuen, MA to identify an experienced Controller to join their accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong technical accounting experience and a proven ability to lead a team.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, overseeing close processes, financial reporting, and audits while mentoring staff. Salary range is $175,000–$185,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Active CPA required.
• Strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, payroll, cash management, and account reconciliations.
• Lead and manage the monthly and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
