Job summary

Pahlisch Homes, Inc. in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Controller to plan, organize, direct, and analyze day-to-day accounting activities and to prepare the financial statements and analyses needed by Executive Management.

This is a managerial position requiring strong technical, supervisorial, and interpersonal skills. Key duties include GAAP reporting, overseeing month-end and year-end closings, multi-entity accounting, job-cost accounting on construction projects, and staff supervision of 4+

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.
• CPA License.
• 10+ years of accounting experience required (including 6+ years of public accounting).
• Demonstrated successful management of 4+ staff required.
• Home-building industry experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting structures.
• Proficient in Word and Outlook; excel skills a must.
• Knowledge of Sage Timberline, Concur, and Office products helpful.
• Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet timelines and manage multiple projects.
• Adaptable to fast paced work environment.
• Strong work ethic with high integrity.
• Ability to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, manage accounting personnel in policies and procedures to maximize productivity.
• Assess accounting operations, propose improvements and implement new processes to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and report financial results in conformity with GAAP.
• Work with JV entities' Accounting Manager to consolidate entities.
• Manage reconciliation of accounts for monthly and annual closings.
• Apply job cost accounting methods to construction jobs and other projects.
• Prepare financial forecasts, analysis and other reports for management.
