Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as Assistant Controller or similar role.
• Solid GAAP knowledge.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Familiarity with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close.
• Strong accounting/financial skills and analytical ability.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• CPA certification (benefit)

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO in managing all accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition.
• Coordinate and direct budget and forecast preparation, and variance reporting.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Own the treasury function.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting.
• Develop and document accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform additional controller duties as needed.
