Job summary

Plum Dental Group is hiring a Controller to lead finance and accounting as the longtime CFO retires. The role reports directly to the CEO and owns the function end-to-end, including controls, monthly close, audit, and tax.

With 4–6 acquisitions annually, you will assist diligence and integration and partner across the organization. You will work closely with the CEO daily and collaborate with the COO, operations, RCM, and HR teams.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including at least 4 years at a Big Four or similar public accounting firm.
• At least 2 years of healthcare accounting experience; multi-site healthcare preferred.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, month-end close, and audit.
• Experience with acquisitions, including diligence and post-close integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and enforce internal controls across all practices and corporate functions.
• Set accounting policies and procedures that scale as new practices join.
• Safeguard company assets and ensure accurate, timely financial records.
• Own the month-end close from start to finish, on schedule, and provide management reporting.
• Lead the annual financial audit and manage relationships with outside auditors.
• Partner with outside tax advisors to file federal, state, and local taxes.
• Oversee acquisitions due diligence and post-close integration.
• Coordinate with COO, operations, RCM, and HR on budgets and performance.
• Develop KPI dashboards to track practice and company performance.
