Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is hiring a Senior Control Systems Specialist to design, implement, and support control system and technology solutions for generation facilities. Base locations include Westminster, CO, with potential remote work up to 40%.

The role requires eight years of progressive OT experience, strong knowledge of PI history, Ovation, MarkVIe, PLCs, and cybersecurity oversight, and a willingness to travel for site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in electronics, information technology, data science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support Generation Technology software tools, including OSIsoft Pi data historian and EtaPro.
• Support Generation Control Systems with expert knowledge of Emerson Ovation, GE MarkVIe, PLCs, CEMS, and related systems.
• Develop operational data reports and data flows to business intelligence software (PowerBI/Tableau) and data lake.
• Conduct software and control system modifications and upgrades; provide global process control guidance.
• Oversee the Management of Change process for controls and cybersecurity.
• Verify data flows daily; troubleshoot data flow issues.
• Maintain data integrity as a front-line responder to data loss.
• Provide first-line support to facilities lacking dedicated controls support.
• Assist with FERC/NERC compliance; stay current with relevant regulations and standards.
• Help define future standards for an efficient, stable OT architecture.
• Support project planning with vendors, Engineering, Construction, and IT resources.
• Coordinate instrumentation, controls, and electrical work with Generation Facilities staff.
• Inform project managers of standard OT practices and network architecture.
• Define and enforce server/operational standards; monitor DCS access.
• Maintain security policies for control system infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot control system problems including DCS networking and control logic.
• Coordinate outages with facility supervision for maintenance.
• Maintain policy compliance; stay up to date with laws and standards.
• Overtime may be required as an essential function.
