Job summary

TEC Group International in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a senior Controls Engineer to lead the Control Systems team and drive safe, cost-efficient DCS/PLC projects across client facilities.

You will collaborate with the Technical Manager and Operations to manage budgets, supervise engineers and designers, and uphold MOC, P&ID, SIS/SIL practices and engineering standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement in instrumentation and process controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years leadership experience.
• Experience with DCS/PLC and process control systems.
• Oil & Gas, Refining and/or Petrochemical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads, supervises and contributes to the Control Systems team ensuring provision of effective Engineering support to the business.
• Ensures assigned DCS OPEX projects and modifications meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Provides expert knowledge and direction on configurable control systems to management and co-workers.
• Ensures compliance with Management of Change (MOC) procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains and enforces design standards, P&IDs, drawings and documentation for client facilities.
• Mentor and develop team members, manage budgets and coordinate with Engineering and Projects groups.
