Job summary

State of Washington Attorney General's Office in Tumwater, WA seeks a permanent full-time Contracts Specialist 2 to oversee contract monitoring, negotiation and administration for diverse procurements. The role supports the Financial Services Division in handling a broad portfolio of contracts, including litigation-related and interagency agreements.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in a related field and substantial contract experience, with potential for in-training from Contracts Specialist 1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, mathematics, statistics, economics, or closely allied field.
• Two years of experience in negotiating, administering or terminating government contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analyses or contract compliance administration.
• A Master’s degree or a law degree may substitute for experience or education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main point of contact for contracts, amendments, terminations, invoicing, and closeouts.
• Negotiate with parties on modification requests to contract terms and conditions and assure compliance.
• Oversee tracking of contracts in ECMS/Law Manager and other tools; provide training and templates.
• Respond to contract issues, advise division staff and outside entities on contracting processes.
• Develop, administer and monitor contracts with state/federal agencies and private vendors.
