Job summary

Metra Commuter Rail is seeking a Sr Contracting Officer to manage complex procurement contracts and documents for large technical projects. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and support growth through effective vendor management.

The role requires experience in procurement, contract administration, and the ability to negotiate terms while coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time delivery and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in procurement operations or contract administration.
• Five years of experience in procurement operations, materials management, or contract administration, preferably in government, railroad, or transit.

Responsibilities

• Provide contract expertise for complex technical specifications, contracts, and solicitation documents for large projects.
• Administer competitive procurements including bids, proposals, and quotes; manage contract lifecycle.
• Monitor contractor performance, review contracts and purchase orders for timely project completion; resolve issues.
• Coordinate team activities, assign tasks, and provide guidance and training as needed.
