Job summary

Metra is seeking a Sr. Contracting Officer in Chicago to lead complex procurement contracts and vendor relationships, from specification through award and closeout, in coordination with Procurement Operations.

You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, prepare bids, analyze proposals, manage contract documents, and mentor junior team members while upholding ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Supply Chain, or related field; or four years of experience in procurement operations in lieu of degree.
• Five years of experience in procurement operations, materials management, or contract administration in a relevant industry.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract documents, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide contract expertise on complex technical specifications, contracts, and solicitation documents for large projects.
• Administer competitive procurements including bids, proposals, and quotes; ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Coordinate team activities, monitor performance, and guide junior staff; ensure timely project delivery.
