Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers seeks a Senior Contracts Manager to lead inbound brand and content licensing across Children’s and Trade lines in New York. You will draft, negotiate and finalize contracts with IP owners, brands and licensors, ensuring compliance with terms.

You will partner with Editorial, Royalties, Publishing Operations and Legal to drive timely execution, risk assessment, and process improvements. This hybrid NY role may be remote from an approved location, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four+ years drafting and negotiating contracts, with brand licensing in publishing or licensing for consumer products/media.
• Knowledge of IP concepts, contract terms, royalties, and licensing practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound brand and content licensing agreements from request to execution.
• Draft and finalize publishing and related agreements (author, illustrator, contributor).
• Review contract requests for completeness and alignment with terms.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Royalties, Publishing Ops, Finance and Legal for timely execution.
• Interpret terms and provide guidance on rights, approvals, and obligations.
• Track status, deadlines and maintain contract records.
