Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers seeks a Senior Contracts Manager to lead inbound brand and content licensing agreements across Children’s and Trade imprint groups. You will draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and amendments, and review requests for accuracy and alignment with business terms.

The role requires four+ years of contract drafting experience, strong IP knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Hybrid NYC or remote from approved locations with travel as needed are possible.

Qualifications

• Four or more years drafting and negotiating contracts, including brand licensing, in publishing or a consumer-products/entertainment setting.
• Knowledge of intellectual property concepts, contract terminology, royalty structures, and licensing practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages inbound brand and content licensing agreements from request through execution, including drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts and amendments.
• Drafts and negotiates other publishing agreements and amendments (author, illustrator, contributor, etc.).
• Reviews contract requests for completeness and alignment with business terms.
• Collaborates with Editorial, Royalties, Publishing Operations, Finance, and Legal to support timely contract execution.
