Job summary

Alaska Energy Authority is seeking a Senior Contracting Officer to lead and coordinate procurements from initial request through completion, ensuring compliance with state procurement laws and policies.

You will administer contracts, manage change orders, monitor expenditures, and proactively renew essential services to prevent gaps. A bachelor's degree in business or related field and several years in purchasing are expected, with professional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field strongly preferred; 5 years-experience in a purchasing role to show proficiency soliciting competition, and knowledge of bidding, proposals and contract resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates procurements for AEA from request to completion.
• Administers contracts; prepares rate and cost adjustments, coordinates time extensions, incorporates change orders, issues cure notices, signs letters and terminates contract when required.
• Monitors contract expiration and expenditure levels.
• Proactively facilitates renewal for ongoing services to ensure renewal/new contract before expiration and minimize extensions.
