Polikov Recruitment Solutions seeks a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter to join a financially strong, respected surety organization. You will underwrite and manage mid-to-large contract surety accounts while building agency relationships across the Southeast.

The role emphasizes disciplined underwriting, strong financial analysis, and profitability, partnering with agents, contractors, and internal leadership to grow a profitable book.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of contract surety underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting mid-to-large size contract surety accounts.
• Strong understanding of contractor financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow, WIP, and backlog.
• Existing agency and broker relationships within the Southeast preferred.
• Ability to balance production goals with profitability.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and manage contract surety accounts within assigned authority.
• Evaluate contractor financial statements, WIP schedules, backlog, bank lines, ownership structure, and overall operational strength.
• Make sound underwriting decisions around risk selection, pricing, account retention, and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, contractors, and other key market partners.
• Develop new business opportunities while continuing to retain and grow an existing book of contract surety business.
