Job summary

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Contract Specialist, GS-1102-14, to manage procurement activities including solicitation development, negotiation, award, administration, close-out and termination of contracts. You will develop acquisition plans for complex technical programs with multiple contracts and apply procurement expertise to ensure sound strategies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in contracting or related positions
• At least 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level
• Transcripts required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirements
• Possess a waiver: senior procurement executive can waive requirements based on demonstrated potential for advancement

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive acquisition plans at progressive stages for complex technical programs involving multiple contracts, applying in-depth knowledge to ensure effective procurement strategies.

Education

Bachelor's degree plus 24 semester hours in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
