Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia seeks a senior contract administrator to manage and negotiate complex government contracts for submarine and surface ship programs. You will administer and extend contracts, supervise proposal preparation, and ensure compliance with all requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree with extensive experience in FAR/DFARS, contract administration, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Equivalencies: NNS Apprentice School, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS), Associate's Degree with 2 years, Military Paygrade E-5+, High School/GED with manufacturing/military experience (exempt) or (non-exempt).

Responsibilities

• Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.
• Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities.
• Examines estimates of material, equipment, services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules.
• Prepares bids, processes specifications and reports; advises management on rights and obligations; maintains historical information.
