Job summary

State of Texas seeks a licensed attorney for a high-stakes consumer protection role in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio. You will lead investigations from inception through trial, issuing Civil Investigative Demands and taking pre-suit depositions of well-represented opponents.

The Division promotes public protection and works with regional offices across the state. Ideal candidates have strong courtroom experience, litigation skills, and the ability to manage complex document discovery

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree and active Texas license.
Extensive experience in civil consumer protection litigation and investigations.
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Lead complex investigations from inception through trial in high-stakes consumer protection matters.
Issue Civil Investigative Demands and conduct pre-suit depositions of major opponents.
Oversee document discovery and motion practice; prepare for trials to verdict.
Present at hearings and trials with strategic case development to protect Texas consumers.
